The ocean of nonexistence

You have heard
of the ocean of nonexistence.
Try continually
to give yourself to that ocean.

Every workshop
has its foundations
set on that emptiness.

The master of all masters
works with nothing.
The more such nothing
comes into your work,
the more the presence will be there.

I may be reading this incorrectly but what I take this to mean is that we have to come fresh to every experience before us, without preconceived notion, especially of outcome. It's a rather provocative thought, that the emptier we are the more we can fill ourselves with what matters.
